Samsung has yet to unveil any official details on its upcoming Galaxy Note 3, but the rumor mill is busy churning nonetheless and reports continue to surface.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was previously rumored to boast a metal design and a flexible display, but it appears that is no longer the case. The latest batch of rumors involves the device's build quality. As it turns out, the Galaxy Note 3 may not sport a significantly improved build quality after all. Instead, the gadget may sport the same plastic trend Samsung is known for.
The latest report comes from SamMobile, which claims that Samsung "dropped the renewed metal design," according to one of its insiders. Further details suggest the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will sport the same design as the new Galaxy S4 flagship smartphone. On the other hand, keep in mind that for now it's all in the rumor state, so nothing is set in stone. Until Samsung offers some official details about the "phablet," take things with a grain of salt.
Coming back to the latest rumor, the most intriguing part of the design choice is the reasoning behind the decision. Samsung reportedly believes that it would not be able to keep up with demand if it chooses to pack a metal body. The news that a metal body is most likely out of the question comes after similar reports that the flexible display is not happening either.
Meanwhile, earlier rumors regarding expected specs indicate the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will pack an octa-core processor in the form of a quad-core Cortex-A15 clocked at 1.9GHz and a quad-core Cortex-A7 clocked at 1.6GHz. Despite some earlier expectation, it now seems the phablet will settle for a 5.99-inch display size, reportedly a Full HD AMOLED.
Other rumored specs include 3GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter, the latest version of Android and the latest version of Samsung's TouchWiz. Samsung enjoyed great success with its Galaxy line of devices, and the Galaxy Note 3 is expected to be another hit product from the South Korean tech giant. The latest set of reports, however, is quite disappointing compared to previous expectations of flexible display and an elegant metal casing.
