If you were left impressed with the major releases from BlackBerry earlier this year viz. BlackBerry 10 (BB10), BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry Q10, then luck's smiling on you because there is more to come from the Canadian company.
According to a Sprint executive, there are more device(s) to come from BlackBerry after the release of its Qwerty keypad smartphone BlackBerry Q10.
Talking to CNET at the CTIA Wireless conference, Lois Eichelberger Fagan, director of product portfolio for Sprint Nextel said, "We are not done with BlackBerry."
"There's more to come," Fagan added.
We are not sure about the device Fagan is hinting at, but we assume that Sprint might be eyeing to get the BlackBerry Q5 as it is focusing on the Qwerty dedicated customers.
Sprint was once the major carrier for the BlackBerry handsets but very surprisingly opted out from carrying BlackBerry's latest flagship touchscreen smartphone, BlackBerry Z10.
However, the company decided to carry the BlackBerry Q10 and is promising more.
There is no specific reason as to why Sprint didn't carry the Z10, but earlier reports suggest that the carrier wanted to launch the Z10 and Q10 devices together. When it became clear that there will be a big time gap between the launches of Z10 and Q10 handsets, Sprint gave up on the BlackBerry Z10 and decided to focus only on the Qwerty keypad handset.
The BlackBerry Q5 is not a very impressive device as it is made for the budget-conscious phone buyers. However, the big advantage with the Q5 is that it will run on the company's most talked about operating system, BlackBerry 10.
The phone is going to come packed in a plastic chassis with a 3.1 inch 720 pixel display. The device will be powered by a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and supported by 2GB of RAM. BlackBerry Q5 will have 8GB of internal storage and will sport a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter for video chat.
