HTC has just posted a "Save the Date" announcement for March 23, 2014, which will likely be the day the HTC M8 (HTC One 2) makes its debut.
The company did not say what exactly it will be announcing on the date, but the best bet is for the much-rumored HTC One successor, dubbed the HTC M8 or the HTC One 2.
It's worth mentioning that HTC made this announcement on its UK Twitter page, but hasn't posted the same teaser on its U.S. account.
Although the company has yet to confirm the HTC M8, the smartphone has already leaked online on several occasions, showing the same beautiful design of the HTC One. The purported specifications of the smartphone have leaked as well, so we have a pretty good idea of what to expect.
Based on leaks and reports so far, the HTC One successor is expected to rock a full metal body, a 5-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 2.2GHz quad-core processor (likely the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800), and 2GB of RAM to keep things running smoothly. On the software side, the handset is expected to ship with the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box.
Recent leaks also indicated that the HTC M8 will sport dual rear cameras with dual LED flash. The handset is expected to come with 16GB of internal storage capacity and may be available in both single-SIM and dual-SIM models, likely depending on region.
Currently there are no clues as to how much the HTC M8, or the HTC One 2 will cost, nor what it will be called when it makes its official debut. Considering that it's a flagship smartphone with high-end specs and features, however, it will likely have a price to match.
If HTC's latest teaser does indeed refer to the HTC M8 unveiling on March 23, it means that the next-generation flagship will not make its debut later this month at MWC 2014, as previously speculated. Either way, we'll keep an eye out for any new information and keep you up to date as soon as we learn more.
