Upcoming Crystal Collection Samsung Galaxy S5 teased, covered in Swarovski bling (VIDEO)
Alexandra BurlacuIf you have some extra cash just laying around and you want your smartphone to look as luxurious as possible, a crystal-covered Samsung Galaxy S5 may be what you need.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 is the company's new flagship and boasts high-end specs and features, but its design left many quite unimpressed. The handset now seems set to be in for a glamorous treatment in terms of design, as Samsung has teamed up with Swarovski to launch a Galaxy S5 completely covered in luxurious Swarovski crystals.
Samsung Mobile Korea has posted a teaser video to show what the Swarovski Galaxy S5 will look like, and if bling-shine is your thing you may find this to be quite impressive.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 covered in Swarovski crystals will be available in Samsung's home country of South Korea sometime next month, and there's no word yet on whether it will see a wider launch in other regions as well. Samsung may choose to keep its Crystal Collection Galaxy S5 bound to South Korea, but it has yet to specify its plans in this matter.
This, however, is not the first time that Samsung has teamed up with Swarovski to give a more luxurious touch to its smartphones. Both the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note 3 received the same treatment, although the Galaxy S4 got a Crystal Edition while the Note 3 just got a blinged-out battery cover.
Samsung offered no information so far regarding the price of the Swarovski Collection Galaxy S5, but last year the crystal-covered Galaxy S4 cost roughly $630, while the crystal-packed Galaxy Note 3 battery cover sold for $300. Before that, Samsung even gave the 2012 Galaxy S3 Mini the Swarovski crystal treatment, so there's no doubt that the company loves to pimp out its hardware.
The Crystal Collection Samsung Galaxy S5 will be available initially only in South Korea, launching sometime in May, with no specific date available at this point. Samsung is expected to widen this model's availability and give the rest of the world a chance to buy the crystal-covered smartphone at some point in the future, but nothing is confirmed for now.
Until Samsung offers some more details regarding this model's pricing and availability, check out the video below to see the Swarovski Crystal Collection Samsung Galaxy S5. Would you buy one?
