Lumia 530 to hit T-Mobile as Nokia Rise, rock Windows Phone 8.1
Alexandra BurlacuA variant of the Windows Phone-based Nokia Lumia 530 is apparently headed to T-Mobile, reportedly set to hit the carrier's network as the Nokia Rise.
The Lumia 530 is likely the successor to the widely popular Lumia 520, which has proved to be the company's best-selling device. Some believe that the new Lumia 630 is in fact the Lumia 520 successor, but the Lumia 530 seems better fit for the role.
The new Nokia Lumia 530 will launch rocking the very latest version of Microsoft's mobile operating system, the recently-introduced Windows Phone 8.1. The smartphone will come with an affordable price tag, but it will not sport any high-end specs and features.
The Lumia 530 is expected to feature a 4-inch WVGA screen with a meager 480 x 800 pixel resolution, a dual-core or quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage capacity, a micro SD card slot for additional memory, and a 5-megapixel rear camera.
No other details have surfaced so far, but the Nokia Lumia 530 is also expected to come with 4G LTE support. The news of the handset's imminent launch on T-Mobile's network as the Nokia Rise comes from well-known tipster @evleaks.
"Nokia Rise = Lumia 530 for T-Mobile USA," the tipster tweeted, without revealing any other details. It remains unconfirmed at this point, but @evleaks has a great reputation when it comes to outing yet-to-be-announced devices and plans in the tech world and has proved to be accurate countless times in the past.
Nevertheless, @evleaks' great reputation is no guarantee for the accuracy of this information. As always with leaks, rumors, and speculation, it is highly-recommended to take everything with a grain of salt until official confirmation.
Nokia's great dedication to Windows Phone has greatly boosted the platform's relevance and increased its popularity, and Lumia devices have proved to be in quite high demand.
If the tipster proves to be accurate this time as well, Nokia or T-Mobile should make it official soon enough. We'll make sure to keep you up to date as soon as we hear more about this purported Nokia Rise, or Lumia 530, allegedly set to hit T-Mobile's lineup.
