Sony Xperia Z3 full spec sheet leaked – Here’s what to expect
Alexandra BurlacuFull specifications have leaked for the upcoming Sony Xperia Z3, which is expected to make its debut very soon at the IFA 2014 trade show.
The Sony Xperia Z3 will launch as the company's new flagship smartphone for 2014, which suggests that it should boast some notable improvements over its predecessor. Recent reports, however, have indicated that the new iteration will in fact be a minor upgrade compared to last year's Xperia Z2 flagship, and the latest leak seems to bolster such claims.
A prototype Sony Xperia Z3 has just leaked in a new image, courtesy of Phone Arena, and this time it reveals a full spec sheet for the device. If this new leak turns out to be accurate, the new-generation Xperia Z3 may disappoint some eager fans.
According to this spec sheet, the Sony Xperia Z3 will sport a 5.2-inch full HD Triluminos IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, but it appears to boast improved readability outdoors. Under the hood, the handset will reportedly pack a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz and paired with a hefty 3GB of RAM.
Other leaked specs include 16GB of internal storage capacity, a microSD card slot for additional memory of up to 128GB, a 20-megapixel Sony Exmor RS rear camera with 4K video recording capabilities, and a 2-megapixel Sony Exmor R front shooter. Connectivity options will include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC, and the smartphone will also sport IP55/IP58 rating for dust and water resistance. A large 3,100 mAh battery will keep things up and running.
Lastly, the new leak further reveals that the Sony Xperia Z3 will be available in three color options when it launches: black, white, and copper. It remains unclear at this point just when exactly the handset will make its commercial debut and which markets it will hit first, but more information should become available shortly when Sony makes its official announcement.
In addition to its new flagship Xperia Z3, Sony is also expected to announce other devices such as the Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, as well as Android Wear-powered SmartWatch 3 and SmartBand Talk wearable gadgets.
