Verizon countdown hints at Motorola Droid Turbo unveiling on Oct. 28
Alexandra BurlacuVerizon Wireless is counting down to something coming 13 days from now, and most likely it's the Motorola Droid Turbo unveiling.
The carrier doesn't specifically mention what it will unveil in 13 days, but the intensifying leaks regarding the Droid Turbo recently suggest that the smartphone is ready to make its official debut in less than two weeks. While Verizon's countdown doesn't confirm or deny anything regarding the much-touted Droid Turbo, it does offer an actual unveiling date.
The Verizon-bound Motorola Droid Turbo has leaked quite extensively as of late, appearing in various reports and images trying to paint a picture of what to expect. Its entire user manual has even leaked online, offering precious hints about the handset. Based on leaks so far, the Motorola Droid Turbo is shaping up as a powerful smartphone that will outshine even the new Moto X flagship.
Recent rumors and leaks have indicated that the Verizon Droid Turbo will boast a 5.2-inch display with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and pack a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor under the hood, paired with 3GB of RAM. Other specs include a 21-megapixel rear camera, a split dual LED flash setup, Moto Turbo charging support, and Nano SIM.
When it comes to software, the Motorola Droid Turbo is expected to come with the same vanilla Android experience found on the Moto X, offering a virtually identical user interface (UI). Popular Moto software features such as Moto Assist, Voice, Display, and Actions should still be on board, however, and Verizon will surely load its own bloatware onto the handset as well.
The countdown displayed on Verizon Wireless' website shows 13 more days to go until the big unveiling, which means that the Motorola Droid Turbo (or some other device?) will make its debut on Oct. 28. If leaks so far turn out to be accurate, the Droid Turbo will launch as a beast of a handset, ready to take on notable rivals on the smartphone market.
With nothing officially confirmed, however, it's still advisable to take all leaks, rumors, and reports, with a grain of salt. We're less than two weeks away from the big launch, so we'll know all there is to know straight from the source soon enough.
