Sprint iPad for Life Plan kicks off, offers new-generation iPad for $17/month starting price
Alexandra BurlacuSprint has an attractive new offer for Apple fans, allowing customers to lease an iPad Air 2 or iPad Mini 3 starting at just $17 per month.
Starting this Friday, Nov. 14, Sprint is offering what it touts to be an "industry-first" option for Apple fans, allowing them to get a new iPad for as little cash as possible. For as little as $17 per month, interested customers can lease an iPad Mini 3 for 24 months, without having to pay any upfront cost.
"Beginning Friday, Nov. 14, new and existing Sprint (NYSE:S) customers can acquire the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 through the industry-first, innovative Sprint iPad for Life Plan," the carrier touted in its press release on Thursday, Nov. 13.
Under this attractive plan, interested customers will be able to get a 16GB iPad Mini 3 for just $17 per month, while a larger-capacity 64GB model will go up to $21 per month and a 128GB model will cost $25 per month.
The iPad Air 2, meanwhile, will have a price tag of $20 per month for the 16GB model, $24 per month for the 64GB version, and $28 per month for the highest-capacity 128GB variant.
"With its exclusive iPad for Life Plan, Sprint gives qualified customers the best value in wireless, no out-of-pocket costs at the point of sale and a new device every 24 months," adds the press release. "The iPad for Life Plan is one of the most economical ways to get a new iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3. Both iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 are available for a 24-month lease option for qualified customers."
Once this 24-month period expires, customers will have the chance to turn in the device they leased and lease another model from a newer generation for $0 down. Alternatively, customers can also choose either to continue leasing the existing iPad on a month-to-month basis, purchase it, or return it and terminate the deal altogether.
"With our announcement of the iPad for Life Plan, Sprint is the only wireless carrier giving customers the ability to acquire an iPad Air 2 for only $20 per month or the iPad Mini 3 for only $17 per month with no out-of-pocket costs," further boasts Tom Roberts, senior vice president of Marketing at Sprint. "And, with the iPad for Life Plan, customers can easily upgrade their tablet every two years."
