Sprint Nexus 6 now $50 cheaper outright, on-contract, or with Easy Pay
Alexandra BurlacuSprint has just slashed $50 off the price of the Google Nexus 6 smartphone, just one week since it started selling the device.
The new Google Nexus 6 handset made in collaboration with Motorola is a top-notch device with high-end specs and features all around, which entail a price to match. While previous Nexus devices were known for their good specs and affordability, this time the Nexus 6 is a top-tier smartphone and it's definitely not cheap.
Sprint started offering the Nexus 6 last week, on Nov. 14, but for some reason it decided to charge more for the device compared to the Google Play pricing. More specifically, Sprint started offering the Nexus 6 for $0 down (plus tax) and $29 per month for 24 months with Sprint Easy Pay, or $696 (excluding taxes, service plan required) outright, with no commitment. The same model Sprint was selling for $696 had a $649 price tag on Google Play.
Sprint has apparently now realized that selling the device outright for more than its Google Play pricing is not exactly the best strategy to attract customers, and has slashed $50 off the price of the Nexus 6.
Sprint customers who want to buy the Nexus 6 from Sprint outright will now have to shell out $649, instead of the original $696 price tag. The carrier is selling only the 32GB Nexus 6 variant in Midnight Blue, and interested buyers can also get the device subsidized for $249 when agreeing to sign a two-year service agreement. This marks a $50 discount as well, as just a few days ago the same on-contract option for the same device, in the same configuration, was priced at $299.
Moreover, interested customers who prefer getting the handset with monthly installments under the Sprint Easy Pay plan will also benefit from this discount. The handset is now available for $27 per month for 24 months, instead of the original $29 per month over the same amount of time.
Meanwhile, those who have already purchased a Sprint Nexus 6 before the carrier applied these discounts will get the $50 in bill credit, so they don't miss out on this offer after all. Lastly, it's worth pointing out that this is not a limited-time offer, Sprint has permanently slashed $50 off the price of the Nexus 6.
