HTC Nexus 9 LTE now available for purchase on Google Play
Alexandra BurlacuT-Mobile recently started selling the LTE-flavored version of the Google Nexus 9 and now Google Play has joined the party, offering the model as well.
The Google Nexus 9 is widely considered one of the hottest tablets of this year, as it boasts high-end specs and features all around to complement the much-touted Nexus experience. The tablet also marks the revival of Google's collaboration with HTC, and it's the first slate HTC has made in a good while.
At the same time, the HTC-made Google Nexus 9 also arrives as the very first tablet to rock Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, as it served as one of the launch vehicles for the latest OS. The tablet further comes with 64-bit support for both the hardware and the software side, promising to deliver premium performance.
In terms of specifications, the Nexus 9 sports an 8.9-inch display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and packs an NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor under the hood, clocked at 2.3 GHz and paired with 192-core Kepler graphics. With an aspect ratio of 4:3, the Nexus 9 is also the first non-widescreen Nexus tablet.
Other specs include an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 1.6-megapixel front shooter, and a 6,700 mAh battery to keep things up and running. The LTE version of the tablet comes in only one configuration, and that's 32GB of internal storage capacity. As previously mentioned, the Nexus 9 rocks Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, but it's also ready for the updated Android 5.0.1 Lollipop, with a factory image already available for download.
Up until recently, the Nexus 9 has been available only in Wi-Fi-only models. T-Mobile just started selling the LTE variant of the tablet, and now the same model has become available through the Google Play store as well.
The LTE-enabled version of the Google Nexus 9 comes with a $599.99 price tag on Google Play, the same price as the T-Mobile version when purchased outright. It's worth pointing out that the Nexus 9 LTE is only available in the Indigo Black color option for now, as the White and Sand avatars are available only with the Wi-Fi-only model at this point.
