BlackBerry Classic stars in promotional clip ahead of official debut (VIDEO)
Alexandra BurlacuOne day ahead of the official BlackBerry Classic unveiling, a promotional video has leaked online showing the smartphone in action.
BlackBerry has made significant efforts in recent times to make a comeback and attract more customers to its platform. Once at the top of the smartphone market, BlackBerry has lost significant ground to rivals Android and iOS, and was even surpassed by Windows Phone.
The company has been bleeding users for a good while as many switched to rival platforms, but BlackBerry nonetheless kept fighting and coming up with new offers. Just recently, the smartphone maker launched its intriguing BlackBerry Passport, an odd handset with a square-ish form factor and attractive specs.
The BlackBerry Classic, meanwhile, returns to the iconic BlackBerry design, as the name itself suggests. Sporting a four-row QWERTY keyboard, the BlackBerry Classic is about to make its debut very soon.
BlackBerry is hosting events in New York, Singapore, and Frankfurt on Wednesday, Dec. 17, when it will officially take the wraps off the much-touted BlackBerry Classic. The handset has already gone up for pre-order a while back and the first batch actually sold out in North America, suggesting that the company may finally have a strong seller on its hands.
In terms of specifications, the BlackBerry Classic will sport a 3.46-inch touch-enabled display with a resolution of 720 x 720 and feature a 1.5GHz processor under the hood. The smartphone will further come with 16GB of internal storage capacity, a microSD card slot for additional storage, an 8-megapiel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front shooter, and a 2,500 mAh battery. On the software side, the handset should run BlackBerry 10.3 OS.
The BlackBerry Classic has now leaked online in a new promotional video ahead of its official unveiling, courtesy of N4BB. The same publication has previously revealed several details regarding the BlackBerry Classic, and has also leaked an image of the device in a white color option.
We'll keep you up to date regarding the BlackBerry Classic's launch, availability, and price as soon as the company makes its formal announcement, so stay tuned. In the meantime, check out the video below to get a better idea of what to expect.
