AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 3 getting Android 5.0 Lollipop now
Alexandra BurlacuAT&T is officially rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop to its versions of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note 3 as we speak.
Android 5.0 Lollipop has already rolled out to a number of devices worldwide, as well as in the U.S., and the update continues its journey to reach more handsets. AT&T is the latest carrier to push Android 5.0 Lollipop to its Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note 3 phablets, releasing the update on Tuesday, March 24. As expected, the update will bring system enhancements, bug fixes, Material Design elements, new features, and more. It's worth pointing out, however, that Material Design changes are less obvious on Samsung devices due to the heavy TouchWiz UI.
The update is quite massive, weighing in at 1.2GB, so make sure you have enough storage on your device before proceeding with the installation. At the same time, the update for both the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Note 3 will require a stable Wi-Fi connection. As always, the devices should have plenty of battery life left to allow for the update to install without interruptions.
For the AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (N-910A), Android 5.0 Lollipop will bring neat Find My Mobile and Reactivation Lock service additions, stability improvements, as well as a slew of other changes and enhancements. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (N-900A) owners, meanwhile, will also enjoy a new user interface (UI), some neat battery saving optimizations, smoother motions, Priority Mode on notifications, Smart Lock, and others.
As usual, AT&T is rolling out the update in stages, which means that it may take a while for all devices to get the notification. If you have yet to receive it, you can always manually check for the update's availability from the phablet's Settings > General > About device > Software updates > Check for updates.
