Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge Best Buy pre-orders come with free wireless charging pad
Alexandra BurlacuBest Buy is officially accepting pre-orders for the new-generation Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge and is sweetening the deal with a free wireless charging pad.
The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are the latest flagship smartphones from Samsung, boasting high-end specs and features all around, in addition to a more premium design.
For a long time, Samsung received lots of criticism for its love of plastic, as the company launched even its highest-end flagships with polycarbonate bodies. Before the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge made their official debut back at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015, the rumor mill was buzzing in regards to a major redesign.
The smartphones indeed launched with a notably different design and ditched the infamous plastic build, but they're not metal-clad all the way either. The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge come with a sleek metal edge and a glass back, sporting a more premium look.
The two handsets are set to hit retail next month, on April 10, and have already gone up for pre-order in the U.S. As the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are expected to be in high demand, carriers and retailers are coming up with various ways to make their offer more attractive.
Best Buy is having its own deal for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, throwing in a free wireless charging pad (worth $59.99) when pre-ordering either of the two smartphones. It's worth pointing out, however, that this is a limited time offer set to expire on April 11, so interested customers might want to take advantage of this deal while it lasts.
As a reminder, both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge come with 5.1-inch QHD displays (2560 x 1440 pixels), high-end Exynos octa-core processors, 3GB of RAM, 16-megapixel rear cameras, and 5-megapixel front shooters. Both come in three storage options - 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB, with no microSD support for additional memory. The Galaxy S6 packs a 2,550 mAh battery, while the S6 Edge has a 2,560 mAh unit. On the software side, both handsets ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, as well as a less-bloated TouchWiz UI on top.
