The Apple Watch Hermes Collection

The Apple Watch Hermes Collection

Jonathan Benito

Last September, Apple announced their partnership with French luxury brand, Hermes. Today, the Apple Watch Hermes Collection retails at select stores nationwide, starting at a lofty price of $1100 USD. With a total of 10 different styles and sizes, it's the hottest luxury smartwear to hit the market to date.

The collection comes with the classic Hermes clock faces along with the brand's name etched at the back. The Single Tour Classic Buckle design is available in Noir or Fauvre (black and brown, respectively) and is priced at $1100 USD in the 42mm size. The 38mm size will have an additional Capucine (red) option apart from the standard colors.

Apple also offers a Double Tour design that can wrap around your wrist twice. This option is only available in the 38mm size with the leather bands available in Fauvre, Etain (grey), Capucine and Bleu Jean (similar to turquoise).  The Cuff design is only available in brown and is priced at $1500 USD.

Stacked against other luxury smartwear like the Urbane and even the Huawei Watch designed by Ben Norton, the Apple Hermes collection simply looks more high end and could pass as a classic luxury watch. Perhaps it's the choice to go with the square design that makes it look less bulky compared to the round design that makes the strap to watch ratio look off-balanced.

As for the specs, the watch has a 1.32 inch display with a 290 PPI pixel density. According to Engadget, the watch has a maximum battery life of 18 hours, comes with Bluetooth 4.0 and integrated Wifi 802.11 b, g, n (2.4 GHz). The watch measures 1.52 inches in height, 1.31 inches thick and weighs 1.41 ounces.

If you're planning to purchase an Apple Watch Hermes, it's available in selected Apple Stores and Hermes globally. Apple's official page lists down all retailers that carry the Hermes collection.
