Apple is once again lending its support to the World AIDS Day and has turned their store logos red. They are also promoting product "red" items on their homepage. Apple CEO Tim Cook has even tweeted that the logo change will be made globally. About 100 of the company's stores worldwide joins in the "Red" day for a day to promote awareness including Sydney, Beijing, Tokyo, Berlin, London, Istanbul, Rio de Janeiro, New York, and Los Angeles.

The Cupertino company has also noted their own role in the fundraising for charity that is to eradicate AIDS within a generation. The exact note reads as "When you buy (Product) RED merchandise, you're supporting the fight for an AIDS free generation." The note also states that they have already raised over $320 million USD for the Global Fund, to provide education and medical care to those who are most affected. It can be noted that more than $100 million USD is made by Apple alone.

Several special "Red" versions of Apple's products are also being featured on the RED.org website. Some of this includes the earlier unveiled red iPhone 6s leather case plus the project's headline product which is a "RED" version of the Beats Solo2 headphones.

Apple's technology section features "RED" versions of the iPod nano, shuffle, and touch; iPad Air Smart Cover; and an iPad Air 2 Smart Case. Currently, the website has five features in their homepage carousel, "RED" being the first while the others is their Christmas ad, gift finder, iPad Pro, and iPhone 6s.

It can be noted that aside from the Apple Store, the iPhone and iPad App Store are also joining the "RED" event. The App Stores are currently offering a collection of Supercell games named Boom Beach, Clash of Clans, and Hay day with "RED" packs as initiative for raising money.

The various Product "RED" versions and "RED" brandings of Apple products is said to be a result of a compromise that was reached when Apple former CEO Steve Jobs was still alive. The red logo campaign was also established five years ago.
