iPhone 7 May Not Carry Smart Connector
Staff ReporterRumor mill are generating more news relating to Apple's next generation smartphone iPhone 7/iPhone 7 Plus, which will be unveiled in this fall. The latest one suggested that iPhone 7 Plus will not include the most anticipated feature--Smart Connector.
According to a new report from the usually reliable Japanese website Mac Otakara , Apple has decided not to include a 'Smart Connector' to iPhone 7 Plus after considering it as a new feature. The Smart Connector, designed to transfer both data and power between iPad Pro and accessories, can be currently seen in the company's iPad Pro.
This is in line with Mobile&Apps' recent report, which said iPhone 7 will adopt a headphone jack. a new leaked image of iPhone 7 Lightning cable assembly shows a headphone jack on the far left-hand side. However, previous rumors suggested that the upcoming iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will feature the Smart Connector.
As per MacRumors, buzzing that iPhone could have the Smart Connector first surfaced on a Chinese website Bastillepost in early March. The site shared an image said to be of the iPhone 7 Plus.
Given the reliability of the rumors, it is possible Apple has never considered the Smart Connector as an iPhone 7 feature, or the Cupertino giant will add the feature to the iPhone 7/7 Plus handsets.
Speaking of other features, rumors alleged the next generation iPhone will sport A10 processor, a bigger battery, a dual camera, and waterproofing design.
Apple's CEO Tim Cook said on a TV interview last week, iPhone will carry features "you cannot live without". However, as of now, none of the rumored feature is something you cannot live without.
The chaotic news of the upcoming "iPhone 7" may indicate that Cook's efforts to improve secrecy, Apple Insider Noted.
Apple will most likely unveil iPhone 7/7 Plus in the regular September timeframe.
