Zelda Wii U: Nintendo Gives 500 'Super Fans' A Chance To Experience The Game Early
Jazz RosinGame developer Nintendo announced that 500 lucky fans will be experiencing 'The Legend of Zelda' for Wii U ahead of everyone else.
It seems that Nintendo is seriously focusing all its energy on its latest Zelda title, having announced previously that the game company will not showcase any other games at this year's E3, as we have reported yesterday.
Zelda fans will have a chance to snag an invite to test play the much awaited title. On June 11, which the company dubbed as 'Super-Fan Signup Day', fans would need to line up and register at Nintendo NY, Nintendo's biggest store in Rockefeller Center. Only the first 500 fans will be eligible for the demo play. The gates open at 9am ET, and Nintendo said that a line will start to form at 7am ET, but knowing the Zelda fandom, we predict that some excited fans would be camping outside the Nintendo store in the early hours. Business Wire reminded fans that Nintendo will be requiring photo ID, and minors should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Once the lucky 500 fans are chosen, they will be invited back to Nintendo NY for a six-day 'Zelda Extravaganza'. The 'Legend of Zelda Experience' event will start on June 14, which coincides with the last day of this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3. Nintendo has announced that it would not have a media presentation on the said event, and will be doing a whole-day livestream instead. The livestream event, called Nintendo Treehouse, will be shown on a huge 15-foot screen inside Nintendo NY, and would be the first full look at the game. The chosen ones will then be able to get their hands on the game for the first time from 3pm until 8pm, all throughout the week.
There wil also be a guided gameplay presentation with 'Nintendo experts' for those who were not lucky enough to get a ticket. The event will also have fun activities like The Legend of Zelda trivias, wherein fans can win prizes, and cosplayers can join in the fun by dressing up as their favorite Zelda characters.
The Legend of Zelda is scheduled for a 2017 release on the Wii U, and on Nintendo's upcoming console, Nintendo NX.
