In perhaps one of this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo's most shocking moments, renowned game director Hideo Kojima showed up at the Playstation E3 press conference with a new game entitled "Death Stranding" featuring "The Walking Dead" actor Norman Reedus.

The "Metal Gear Solid" creator surprised fans with his unannounced visit at this year's E3. Kojima then dropped the bomb and announced the game that his newly formed studio, Kojima Productions, is currently hard at work on.

Kojima showed the trailer of "Death Stranding" for the first time ever. In another shocking revelation, actor Norman Reedus is the main protagonist in the game.

"The Walking Dead" actor was supposed to work with Kojima and famous film director Guillermo del Toro on the cancelled "Silent Hills" project, Kotaku reported last year.

The clip is very surreal, with dead fish and crabs lying everywhere and a baby connected to the main character's belly button, it's hard to make sense of it all at this point. Gamespot reported that Kojima has always wanted to make his next project "edgy", and based on the trailer alone, he is on the right track.

Despite the ambiguity of the trailer, fans responded positively to Kojima's first creation since his publicized dispute with his former employer Konami, Arstechnica reported last year.

The bitter feud between the game director and the publisher has started during the development of the latest "Metal Gear Solid" title, "The Phantom Pain". Kojima was removed from the executive list of Konami, where he was originally "Executive Content Officer".

Konami has also removed all Hideo Kojima branding from some of his games. At the "Game Awards" last year, host Geoff Keighley announced that Kojima was banned by Konami from attending the games to receive the awards for "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain", according to Polygon.

Since his exit from Konami, Kojima has started Kojima Productions. Kojima then immediately forges a partnership with another publisher giant Sony a day after his Konami contract expired.
