‘Game of Thrones’ Stars Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke & More Cast Get Big Salary Hike For Season 7 & 8

HBO's "Game of Thrones" has seen a rare combination of ratings, cultural phenomenon, and critical analysis. In fact, it has also won the Best Drama Series Emmy last year.

The stars of the series like Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke and others are sharing the success of the series with major salary bumps for "Game of Thrones" final chapter.

Mainstays like Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Kit Harrington (Jon Snow), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) and Nikolaj Coster - Waldau (Jaime Lannister) will all be paid north of $500,000 an episode for season 7, and season 8, according to Deadline.

Although HBO has not specified the size of Season 7, yet it is speculated that both Season 7 and Season 8 would be shorter than the standard of 10 episodes. Season 7 will probably have 7 episodes, while Season 8 will have six episodes.

HBO mentioned that they don't discuss contracts. Notably, this move helped secure the key "Game of Thrones" cast for the final run of the series. The contracts for other regulars of the series have not yet been renewed.

Meanwhile, this has been a huge success for Kit Harrington as the actor has been rumored to get more susperstitious lately.  In an interview with This Morning, the actor revealed just how chained to superstition he is.

"I'll develop weird superstitions before going on stage," he said. "I have to kiss certain things before going on stage - my parents' picture, a picture of my brother..."

He went to such an extent that he reportedly kissed a picture of his girlfriend, Rose Leslie, who plays the role of Yrgitte on "Game of Thrones." "My girlfriend was very upset when I told her," he admitted.

It has been rumored that in the previous major "Game of Thrones" cast renegotiation in 2014, the salary was $300,000 for an episode for Harington, Dinklage, Clarke, Headey, and Coaster - Waldau, which headed into Season 6 in exchange for giving the actors an access in the seventh season.

Thus, in the same way, they will be signing for season 7 with possible (multiple) appearance in season 8.
