NIS America has recently released a new trailer for its new visual novel game "Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness." The trailer gives a brief overview of what to expect in the game.

Based on the popular anime "Psycho-Pass," the introduction trailer shows the characters from the first season, like lead protagonists Shinya Kogami and Akane Tsunemori, and other members of the Public Safety Bureau's Criminal Investigation Division, Nobuchika Ginoza, Tomomi Masaoka, Shusei Kagari, Yayoi Kunizuka and Shion Karanomori.

The trailer, which is uploaded on NIS America's Youtube channel, also introduces three new characters, Nadeshiko Kugatachi, Takuma Tsurugi, and a red-eyed blonde boy who goes only by the name of Alpha.

Nadeshiko is the new Inspector of the MWPSB Criminal Investigation Department Division 1. She lost her memories during a training accident. Nadeshiko regains her memories bit by bit as she solves cases around the city.

Takuma Tsurugi is a latent criminal who was recently assigned to become an Enforcer of the MWPSB Criminal Investigation Department Division 1. His Psycho-Pass became clouded when his childhood friend, Yukari Himekawa, went missing, and has thrown his once peaceful life off balance.

The character roster is also listed on NIS America's official "Psycho-Pass" website.

The story of "Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness" will be based on the anime series, and is said to have branching storylines and multiple endings, according to the trailer. This means that the ending of the story will be dependent on the player's decisions.

For people who are not familiar with the visual novel genre, the game will feature mostly static graphics and will be heavy on dialogues and text prompts.

"Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness" is originally released for the Xbox One on May 28, 2015 in Japan. Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita ports were released in Japan earlier this year.

A North American release for the PS4 and PS Vita is scheduled on September 13, and the European release is scheduled on September 16. A PC port is also planned, according to Capsule Computers.
