Many teams are currently wooing Oklahoma City Thunder's Kevin Durant to join their roster. This is reported to be the first time in his career to be in the free agency.

Sports Illustrated reported that the Golden State Warriors have emerged as the strongest contender to sign up Durant during the free agency event starting this week. Even though he has set up meetings with other teams like the San Antonio Spurs, Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Clippers, and the Miami Heat, it is rumored that he would still end up with the Golden State Warriors in the end.

Reports suggested that the Golden State's good defense build-up in the team and high energy players like Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson would turn out to be a perfect fit for the Kevin Durant. CBS Local reported that currently, the Warriors team has great statistics in their favor to lure in Kevin. Its current roster has won NBA-record 73 games in the last basketball season and also knocked off Durant's team in the recent Western Conference finals.

Furthermore, it is being rumored that Kevin Durant would not be shaking hands with the Washington Wizards as there is no meeting with the team scheduled yet, reported The Washington Post. On the other hand, few reports have surfaced stating that the New York Knicks is also eyeing to strike a trade deal with Durant after their recent trade success by acquiring Derrick Rose. Even the 29-year old player teased that he might opt to play for the New York team.

"Obviously, they have a good team now with D-Rose & Melo & Porzingis so I will talk to my team and we will figure things out," said Kevin, as reported by Lakers Nation. But, there are no reports of him setting up a meeting with the Knicks either.

Meanwhile, the other top players in the NBA Free Agency 2016 list are Andre Drummond, Mike Conley, Hassan Whiteside, Dwight Howard, Nicolas Batum, DeMar DeRozan, and many others.
