PlayStation 4.5 Neo Has 4K Support; Release Date Set In September?
Eve CesistaPlayStation fanatics must have felt thrilled when Sony announced the arrival of PlayStation 4.5 Neo days before the E3 2016. However, the thrill turned to a slight disappointment when the company did not even share a glimpse of the product during the event. But worry no more because new details are now available.
Tech Advisor reported that Sony will launch the 4.5 version instead of the rumored PlayStation 5. According to the website, the decision has been made because it suits more to today's games, with the help of 4K support. The details about it are yet to be announced.
As per Giant Bomb, the product is coded as NEO, with "eight Jaguar CPU cores running at 2.1GHz rather than the 1.6GHz in the PS4 and an improved AMD GCN with 36 rather than 18 CUs running at the higher rate of 911MHz over 800MHz."
The upcoming version also possesses faster GDDR5 memory - 8GB at 218GB/s instead of 176GB/s. The product will also have faster WiFi access as well.
While the details about the Playstation 4.5 Neo are overwhelming, its release date is soon to be confirmed. According to sources at Eurogamer, Sony has not disclosed a specific date but it is expected to be out before the year ends.
Meanwhile, VR Gamer claimed that the product will debut at this year's Tokyo Game Show, which will happen on September 15 to 18. But these claims remain seen by Sony, so the public must wait for the official announcement.
Tech Advisor further revealed that the PlayStation 4.5 Neo will compete with the Xbox One S console that also boasts a 4K output. Gamers are yet to determine which of the products will deliver more than is expected.
The updates about PlayStation 4.5 Neo keeps on coming, so make sure to keep your eyes open.
