Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Specs, Features: Phablet To Sport Infrared Illuminator To Assist Iris Scanners, S Pen
Dheeraj RThe much-awaited Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is reported to sport an iris scanner to accompany its excellent design features. The Iris scanner is expected to provide the Samsung phablet users with a new security system.
Tech Times reported that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will consist of the infrared illuminator in order to carry out the Iris recognition functionality with ease. It is reported that the upcoming phablet will sport a new front-facing three-camera system which will help the infrared image capturing process.
There are reports that one of the three lenses in the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 would help to seize the infrared images with controlled exposure from the remaining lenses. Giz Bot reported that this illuminator would thus assist the Iris scanner function even in low-light situations.
The illuminator rumors emerged after the South Korean company recently filed a patent application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for the Iris scanner. Forbes reported that the three lenses on the front side of the device would enable the device to capture images of the face and the eyes simultaneously. This process is stated to aid the Iris scanner to ensure that the user's face is in a suitable position for scanning.
Apart from the Iris scanner feature, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is expected to have a stylus pen. The phablet is also rumored to consist of Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 6 GB RAM, reported Android Central, and an 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display with 4,000 mAh battery.
Moreover, there are rumors that the upcoming Galaxy Note 7 will sport tapered edges along with some minor changes in the overall look of the device. It will feature a USB Type-C port which would help the Note 7 to transfer files at a faster rate and also increase the charging speed.
With a reported 64 GB internal storage with micro SD card support, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is expected to be released in August.
