'Batman: Return To Arkham' Cancelled? Remaster Delayed Indefinitely; 'Origins' To Be Added In The Bundle?
Jazz RosinWarner Bros. has given Batman fans grave news this week as the studio announced that the release date for "Batman: Return to Arkham" has been delayed indefinitely.
WB Games has posted the announcement on the official Community Forums, explaining that the decision was made so they, along with Virtuos Games, can put more polish to the game, which includes remastered versions of "Batman: Arkham Asylum" and "Batman: Arkham City."
"After reviewing the progress of the project, the team at WB Games has decided to delay the release of Batman: Return to Arkham to give the team at Virtuos Games additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience," WB Games said.
The team also said that they don't have a release date for the remastered bundle yet, and will inform the fans as soon as the game is ready.
WB Games acknowledged that this is very disappointing for fans who are excited for the game. The game company said that they will use the extra time to allow the team to deliver a polished "Batmak Arkham" game experience.
Some fans accepted the explanation and are glad that WB is not rushing to get the game out, hoping that the delay will make a better product out of "Batman: Return to Arkham."
Other fans, however, are still hoping that "Batman: Arkham Origins" will be included in the "Return to Arkham" bundle. Some are speculating that the remaster is delayed because the studio is adding "Origins" to it.
Despite the high demand for "Origins," however, "Batman: Return to Arkham" will only focus on Rocksteady Studio's "Batman Arkham" titles released on last-gen consoles.
"'Batman: Arkham Origins' is not included because it was not part of Rocksteady Studios' Batman: Arkham trilogy," WB Community Forum Mod KingCroc wrote. "We currently do not have plans for a collection that includes 'Batman: Arkham Origins' or 'Batman: Arkham Knight'."
A sad day for Batfans, indeed. Not to worry, though. Telltale Game's "Batman" will be out in September, keeping hardcore followers busy for a while.
