Kindle Fire Update v.6.3: Top New Features Explained

Vamien MacKalin

Amazon has updated the Kindle Fire to v.6.3, making the greatest and best updated yet for the #1 Android-based tablet device. The new features brought to the Kindle Fire via the new updated should make many existing owners and potential new owners happy. We are pleased with Amazon's choice of focusing on services instead of releasing new hardware on a regular basis because content is king, while everything else is secondary.

The newest update to the Amazon Kindle Fire includes:

Movie Rentals

Renting movies wasn't a part of the software when the Amazon Kindle Fire first touched down. Fortunately, Amazon rectified that problem with the new update. From within the Kindle Fire, users can now rent and watch movies easily. Like on every other device, the clock timer begins to click when you begin the movie for the first time.

Silk Browser Reading Review

Silk is the Kindle Fire default browser, and also one of the best mobile browser you will come across on a tablet. The new reading view feature allows users to have a clean view of whatever they are reading. This is a feature found on many browsers, so it is not exactly new but a welcome addition nonetheless.

Personal Documents

Previously, users weren't able to store personal documents in Amazon's cloud from their Kindle Fire. Now this is possible. Whenever you do so, you can access your files from the document tab. Furthermore, any notes you edit will be synced.

In Book Sharing

We like this feature, and we are sure many will find it useful too. Have you ever been reading a book on your Kindle Fire, came across a very interesting passage and felt the need to share with friends but couldn't? Well, things have changed. The new update now allows users to share passages via social networks along with the Kindle website.

Book Extras

Another feature we find enticing. With book extras, you can easily view the information of the book such as the author, characters, etc. No need to move away from the book to view these information, which can be annoying at times.
