How The 'Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2' Story May Be Connected To 'Dragon Ball Super'

"Dragon Ball" fans are speculating that the story plots of both the upcoming game "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" and the current anime series "Dragon Ball Super" may be connected.

Forbes reported that there may be a possible connection between the stories of the two "Dragon Ball" franchises. Fans have discussed the chances that the two stories are interrelated, and this may have something to do with the anime's latest developments.

Warning: there may be major spoilers ahead for those who have not seen the latest "Dragon Ball Super" episodes yet.

One of the pivotal scenes in the anime series is when Future Trunks traveled back to the past to warn Goku about the incoming threat that is Goku Black. Fans speculate that the Trunks in the anime is the same Trunks in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse," who is part of the new Time Patrol.

Another similarity is a certain detail on Goku Black's time ring. The ring has an insignia on it that is quite similar to the insignias on the heads of both evil Janemba and evil Broly. Check it out on the "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" trailer below.

The concept of time travel is one of the main themes of the game, so the fan theories cannot be too far off.

As we reported previously, "Dragon Ball Super" main villain Goku Black will be available as a pre-order bonus DLC, so this also strengthens the possibility of connected storylines.

Fans would have to wait for these speculations to be proven true when the game ships in a few months. "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" will be available on October 25 for Playstation 4 and Xbox One, with the PC version coming October 28.

The next episode of "Dragon Ball Super," Episode 53: "Reveal Black's True Identity! Off to the Kaioshin Realm of Universe 10" will be aired on July 31. Check out the synopsis for Episodes 23 and 54 here.
