Fujifilm Instax Share SP-2 vs SP-1; Which One To Get?
C. de LacyWith Fujifilm Instax Share SP-2 set to be released on July 27, some consumers are possibly perplexed now between the older SP-1 and the SP-2. Newer isn't always better, and here's a quick rundown of both printer that'll help people decide.
Would-be owners at this point should have already made some researches regarding the differences between the two. More often than not, comparing these two may get confusing especially with beginners.
Here are some main similarties and differences that will help the decision on which one to get:
Portability
Fujifilm Instax Share SP-2, just like its predecessor SP-1, is extremely portable. Both of them can fit in a small camera bag and possibly, even a large pouch.
With SP-2's dimensions of 3 x 5 x 7.12 inches and weight of .54 lbs, the SP-1 may only appear slightly bulkier. Both of these two are very passable as portable printers perfect for social gatherings like weddings and parties.
Printing Compatibility
This part is where the differences start. Fujifilm Instax SP-1 has the capability of printing photos from connected Wi-Fi enabled devices like Android, iOS, and Wi-Fi digital cameras. However, the newer model, SP-2, is only limited to Android and iOS devices, according to PCMag.
Not an extreme deal breaker, but this might be one factor that should be considered. Especially to those who plan to use it more often with Wi-Fi enabled digital cameras and in groups.
Battery
SP-2 is powered by a removable NP-45 rechargeable battery. This has the ability to produce approximately 100 prints. This is step up from the former SP-1, which is powered by CR2 batteries. There's a good reason why others will prefer the dedicated NP-45 removable batteries due to its accessibility.
Photo Quality
One of the most important factos, the fhoto quality for these two are almost the same, if not exactly identical. Both have a print size of 3.4 by 2.1 inches. The Instax format relies to photochemical approaches.
To skip the technical photography mumbo-jumbo, this means photos come out with analog-like qualities.
Price
Yet, another important factor would be the price. Fujifilm Instax Share SP-2 is at $200 on Amazon right now. SP-1 is priced at $147.99.
