'Kingdom Come: Deliverance': Armor Layer And RPG System Explained In New Video

Developer Warhorse Studios has revealed a new video earlier this week, explaining the armor mechanics behind its medieval RPG game "Kingdom Come: Deliverance."

The video details the game's extensive RPG system, along with its armor layering system and more. according to its Kickstarter page.

RPG System

"Kingdom Come: Deliverance" allows players to choose among different play styles. Players can choose to enhance their speech skills and go through the diplomatic route of dealing with things. Stealth is also another option, as well as all-out violence.

As the video explains, all the player's actions in the game will affect the character's reputation.

Armor Layer System

"Kingdom Come: Deliverance" has a fully customizable 16 slot armor layering system, detailed below:

-6 body slots (cloth, chainmail, plate, sleeves, gloves, coat/hood)

-4 leg slots (trousers, chainmail, armor, boots)

-4 head slots (coif, chainmail, helmet, necklace)

-2 jewelry slots (ring, spur)

(Weapon slots contain: weapon, shield, bow, arrow)

Different types of material has different weaknesses and strengths, and this could be used to make the armors as customizable as possible.

"Keeping armor clean and in good shape is crucial," Warhorse Studios said. "Dirty, bloody or destroyed armor has a direct influence on the effectiveness, your appearance and your reputation."

Survival and Item Quality

As with other popular RPG's, durability of weapons and armors are decreased with use. Such items can be brought to the local smith for fixing, or players can use a grind stone.

Lack of food and sleep will affect the player's stats and can lead to death, so players should make sure that their characters are well rested and fed properly. Food can spoil as well so players would have to check their inventory often during their travels.

"Kingdom Come: Deliverance" is now on beta testing for eligible Kickstarter backers and site members. The game will be launched in 2017 for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.
