Although Theo James and Ruth Kearney have been engaged for quite sometime, wedding bells might not ring for the couple -- and the reason might be Shailene Woodley.

Notably, the dating rumors of James and Woodley have intrigued fans ever since the two shared screens for the movie adaptation of Veronica Ruth's science fiction. According to Fashion & Style, a source close to the production confirmed that the duo had been dating before they both agreed to play their respective roles in the "Divergent" series.

"They were holding hands and they even shared dessert. When they were waiting for the bill, James leaned in for a kiss and they seemed very passionate towards each other," said the source.

However, earlier this year James told Dazed Digital that his onscreen compatibility with Woodley does not denote that he is dating her in real life.

"By that time we had bridged the boundary and the friendship gap and she knew how weird I was and I knew how weird she was," mentioned James.

"You're feeling each other out and what boundaries you can push and what ones you can't. But yeah she definitely understands what a weirdo I am."

Incidentally, James has been dating Kearney since 2009, and they got engaged last year. Ever since the announcement of engagement, they haven't disclosed their wedding plans to their fans. According to Inquisitr, the reason for the delay is Woodley, however, no facts have been put forward supporting the claim.

Meanwhile, other sources claimed that the delay in James wedding might be due to the his professional life, wherein he might replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond. On the other hand, Kearney is busy with the Netflix mini series "Flaked," as she plays the role of Claire.

Thus, it seems that the wedding might not be halted due to Woodley, but more so due to the work schedule of Kearney and James. However, it is yet to be confirmed; and until then, fans continue to speculate about the trio.
