'Pokémon GO' Guide: How To Catch Dratini, Dragonair And Dragonite

Jazz Rosin

Next on our "Pokémon GO" guide, we will discuss how to obtain the three dragons of the first generation Pokémon: Dratini, Dragonair, and Dragonite.

Why Should You Get A Dragonite

According to The Silph Road, Dragonite is the most powerful Pokémon in "Pokémon GO" right now, apart from the Legendary Pokémon. If you want more powerful Pokémon in your arsenal, then Dragonite is your guy.

Finding Dratini, Dragonair and Dragonite In The Wild

Dratini and Dragonair are both water-type Pokémon. As with all water-type Pokémon, your best bet would be to go to areas near bodies of water like lakes and oceans. Some also spotted water-types near fountains.

The elusive Dragonite can be found mostly in parks and forests, but can also be found on the streets.

Out of the three, catching a Dratini in the wild would be the easiest. Dragonair and Dragonite can be a pretty rare catch, however, it is possible to catch them with a combination of sheer luck and tons of items.

You can increase your chances of finding any of these Pokémon is to whip out your lure module near Pokéstops.

Once you were able to make them appear, you need to use a higher level Pokéball like Great Ball and Ultra Ball and tons of Razz Berries for both Dragonair and Dragonite. Good luck!

Evolving Dratini Into Dragonair, Then Dragonite

If luck is not on your side, then the most straightforward way would be to evolve Dratini from scratch, as this is the easiest monster to get out of the three.

To evolve Dratini into Dragonair, 25 Dratini Candies are required. From Dragonair, 100 Dratini Candy is needed to evolve into Dragonite.

Hatching Dratini, Dragonair and Dragonite From Eggs

Another method is to hatch your 10KM eggs and hope that a Dratini, Dragonair, and Dragonite would appear.

While it is possible to get all three from hatching Pokémon eggs, Dragonite is still really the most difficult one to get.
