Our Samsung Galaxy S7 vs. Microsoft Lumia 950 review suggested that both the devices are at par with each other in terms of specs and features. However, the Samsung phone has better performance-related specs compared to the Lumia device as it has a high range Snapdragon processor and Quick Charge battery charging functionality.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 Octa processor depending on its 32 GB or 64 GB storage capacity with 4 GB RAM as against Microsoft's phone which consists of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage option. The Galaxy S7 also features the Dual-core 2.15 GHz Kryo CPU and Adreno 530 graphics card whereas the Lumia 950 smartphone has Dual-core 1.82 GHz Cortex-A57 processing unit along with Adreno 418 graphics card.

In terms of display specs, the Samsung and the Microsoft phone are reportedly similar barring few aspects. The Galaxy S7 consists of a 5.1-inch screen with Super AMOLED display. It also has a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for added protection to the device and a non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery. On the other hand, the Lumia 950 phone features a 5.2-inch screen and AMOLED display along with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It consists of a removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery.

As far as the camera specs are concerned, the Microsoft Lumia device stands out compared to the Galaxy smartphone. Android Central reported that the Lumia 950 phone has a truly dedicated camera button and provide true-to-life colors with a 20-megapixel rear and a 5-megapixel front camera. It also consists of additional features like Pure View technology, geo-tagging, face detection, panorama, and HDR.

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S7 provides pop colors with the help of a 12-megapixel rear and a 5-megaixel front camera. The smartphone also sports excellent features like geo-tagging, simultaneous 4K video support, 9-megapixel image recording, touch focus, face & smile detection, Auto HDR, and panorama.

In addition, the Samsung Galaxy S7 has an IP68 certified dust proof and water resistant body, which has the capability to protect the device under 1.5 meter of water for 30 minutes duration. No such functionality is provided by the Lumia 950 phone.

Last, but not the least, both the device sports different operating systems and thus different software specs. The Galaxy S7 runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS whereas the Lumia 950 phone consists of the Microsoft Windows 10 OS.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 has been priced at $670, while the Microsoft Lumia 950 phone is available for $649. To choose between the two smartphones will totally depend on your specific set of requirements.
