"Pokémon GO," which was initially released in selected countries on July 6, is now gradually rolling out into different nations. Now, 15 more countries in Asia finally joined the list.

The full list of new countries are as follows: The Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Cambodia, Brunei, Indonesia, Laos, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Fiji, Palau, and the Federated States of Micronesia. The much-awaited launching was announced on the official international Pokémon Go Facebook page on Aug. 6, Saturday.

Hundreds of Filipino Pokémon trainers then gushed out onto the country's streets to play the augmented reality game. The smartphone game apparently gives players a chance to gather virtual pocket monsters, dubbed Pokémon, scattered throughout the city in real-life settings.

In fact, an unnamed source revealed to GamenGuide that he spotted two of the top six toughest and rarest Pokémon in the game - Mew and MewTwo, a psychic-type Mythical and Legendary Pokémon, respectively. Both Pokémon are members of the Mew (Legendary) duo.

However, it is worth noting that no one has spotted these Pokémon so far in-game. Hence, the claim of the said source is yet to be confirmed.

In other news, Islamic Republic of Iran just banned the "Pokémon GO" mobile game due to unspecified security concerns, making them the first country to issue a blanket ban.

It remains unclear what security concerns the Iranian High Council had with the augmented reality game, although BCC reported that local authorities were attempting to gauge Niantic's cooperation with them before settling on the said decision.

Recently, New York State authorities stated that they would boycott somewhere in the range of 3,000 registered sex offenders from playing "Pokémon GO" while they are on parole.

"Protecting New York's children is priority number one and, as technology evolves, we must ensure these advances don't become new avenues for dangerous predators to prey on new victims," Governor Cuomo said in a statement. "These actions will provide safeguards for the players of these augmented reality games and help take one more tool away from those seeking to do harm to our children."

As of now, the game remains a no-show in India and China. Stay tuned for more "Pokémon GO" news and updates.
