NBA Trade Rumors: Boston Celtics To Pursue Milwaukee Bucks' Greg Monroe Instead Of Sixers' Jahlil Okafor?

The latest NBA trade rumors hinted that the Boston Celtics might opt for the Milwaukee Bucks' power forward Greg Monroe instead of the Philadelphia 76ers' Jahlil Okafor. Reports claimed that the Celtics are eyeing a perfect partner for their center player Al Horford.

Morning News USA reported that the Boston Celtics will opt for Monroe for mainly two reasons. First one is that in order to bring in the power forward from Bucks, the Celtics will not have to trade any player from their team. Whereas if the Celtics choose Okafor, then reports claimed that 76ers might demand some major players from  the Boston team like Avery Bradley or Jae Crowder, which the team cannot afford to lose at the moment.

On the other hand, the second reason is that Monroe will provide the Celtics with the best gameplay along with more rebounds and assists in the frontcourt. It is also stated that the 26-year-old player will also be able to team up easily with Al Horford and provide the Boston Celtics with frontcourt defenses over smaller teams.

Furthermore, the NBA trade rumors hinted that including Monroe will enable the Celtics to improve their roster. Fansided reported that the team will then offer a tough competition to the other teams in the Eastern Conference like the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, New York Knicks, and the Chicago Bulls.

It is reported that even though Monroe is no match for other big players the Celtics wanted to trade like Jimmy Butler, DeMarcus Cousins, Kevin Durant, and Russell Westbrook, he will still prove as a major acquisition for the team at an affordable salary cap.

On the other hand, according to the NBA trade rumors, the Boston Celtics team is also considering bringing in the Los Angeles Clippers power forward Blake Griffin and Atlanta Hawks forward Paul Millsap.
