'Friday The 13th: The Game' vs 'Dead by Daylight': Which One Will Be The Better Slasher Game?

"Friday The 13th: The Game" is to be released this fall which was lisfted from its movie origin, one of the best slasher films in the industry. Will the game deliver or is it a territory ruled by the earlier released game "Dead by Daylight?"

Fans of both slasher horror films and videogames may rejoice as "Friday The 13th: The Game" is almost up for release. Originally, the game is intended to have multiplayer modes only, similar to the earlier released game "Dead by Daylight," which shares the same inspiration.

"Dead by Daylight" is a 4 vs 1 multiplayer game that pits one player as the Killer versus four other players as the Survivors (if they manage to keep their namesake.)

"Friday The 13th: The Game" plays out similarly, but there's a bit of a difference in terms of how the games play out. First, "Dead by Daylight" has maps that are procedurally generated, which may give it an advantage over the other game. Unless it has the same nature and has bigger maps and scopes.

Fans debate as to whether which game will be better and given that "Friday The 13th: The Game" isn't officially released yet.

However, one difference between the two game is the focus on the kills. "Dead by Daylight" has a limited number of kill animations based on what we've seen so far, but according to developers of "Friday The 13th: The Game," there's already 400 kill animations.

It would seem like the variety of killing characters isn't the main concern in Jason's game, but instead, a highlight of how brutal, his killing methods are. This alone, may make "Friday The 13th: The Game" standout.

While not graphically stunning in today' standard, "Friday The 13th: The Game" may get the advantage for its homage to the original film. This is the same thing that "Dead by Daylight" is attempting to do, but with some minor setbacks and limitations.

Another factor to consider is the possibility of a single player mode for "Friday The 13th: The Game." While it doesn't show that the campaign reached its stretch goal for the single player mode to be added, Polygon reported that developers are looking forward to including it and this will really depend on the game's success.
