Apple Watch 2 Rumors: Leaked Images Hint At Wearable's Long Life With 334 mAh Battery
Dheeraj RThe latest leaked images of the upcoming Apple Watch 2 hinted that the wearable will have a long battery life. According to reports surfaced on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, the second installment of the wearable from Apple will consist of a lithium-ion 334 mAh battery.
Mac Rumors reported that the leaked images touted that the Apple Watch 2 will consist of a 35.7 percent larger battery compared to its predecessor. Reports claimed that the smartwatch will sport more than 72 hours of battery life in Power Reserve mode.
Furthermore, it is stated that the improvised battery will be made available for the 42mm Apple Watch model, which currently sports a 246 mAh capacity. However, there are no reports on the battery capacity of the smaller Apple Watch model of 38mm, which currently has 205 mAh capacity.
To add to the spec rumors, popular KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had earlier hinted that the upcoming Apple Watch 2 will be launched this year with a high battery life. The analyst also suggested that the wearable will be launched in two variants along with additional features like the GPS and a barometer for enhanced geo-location functionality.
It is stated that the new watch will be similar to its predecessor in terms of overall design. In terms of software specs, the Apple Watch 2 is rumored to incorporate the upcoming WatchOS 3.0, which will provide an excellent user interface to the users.
Meanwhile, the release date rumors suggested that the new version of the Apple Watch might be launched along with the company's latest iPhone 7 on September 7, reported Apple Insider. However, other reports also hinted the October release possibility.
