'Pokémon GO' Spawn Nests Vs Normal Spawn Rate: Which Is The Easier Path?

C. de Lacy

Catching specific pokémon can become tedious most of the time with "Pokémon GO." Fortunately enough, folks from Pokemon Go Champ came up with a Spawn Rate chart that serves as a guide for catching particular pokémon quite accurately.

The chart is an online web-based tool for checking the spawn rate of particular pokémon. As opposed to the finding pokémon nests, using the chart provides an easier and more planned approach to catching specific pokémon.

Pokémon nests are when a specific pokémon spawns in a particular area and is consistent. For trainers who would like to go down this path, there is a number of unofficial pokémon go community sites that logs locations such as this subsite from Gamepress called Pokémon Nests.

In this site, trainers can make a quick search on specific areas or cities and the staff from the team actually verifies the accuracy of the submitted information to them.

On the other hand, using the Pokémon GO Spawn Rate chart provides a different approach and somewhat easier than actually heading to specific places.

In Pokémon GO Champ's chart, users can scroll down to view the list of pokémon, the spawn chance, average spawn rate and the time where the spawn the most.

The users simply need to type in a specific pokémon name or click any of the field headers to custom sort the chart. Funny enough, clicking the "Spawn Chance %" puts Ditto, Articuno, Zapdos, Motres, Mewtwo and Mew on top with empty values or zero.

The next rarest pokémon to them which is still possible to catch is a Dragonite with a spawn chance of .0011% and most active at around 11:38 pm. Take note that the time indication uses "Local Time," so it shouldn't be confused with other time zones.

According to the site, the chart's data are based off Poké Radar's prediction algorithm dataset.

While it doesn't exactly help trainer nab rare pokémon easier, it does provide a highly accurate chart according to people from Pokéradar and it would at least eliminate some of the guesswork involved with random spawns on random areas.
