So who is the strongest starter evolution in "Pokémon GO?" Let's take a look at their stats in the game.

Strongest Starter Evolution Based On CP Growth

Based on the data gathered by The Silph Road, it looks like Charizard and Venusaur are tied in first place, with both Pokémon getting 35 CP per average power up.

Venusaur comes in at a close second, gaining only 34 CP per average power up, just one point less than its starter companions.

Strongest Starter Evolution Based On Attack And Defense Stats

According to RankedBoost's Strongest Pokémon Tier List, the three starter evolutions are all on the S Tier, based on their total combined maximum HP, CP, attack and defense stats.

According to The Silph Road, however, based on combined stats, Blastoise wins the race, followed by Venusaur, then Charizard.

Looking at it individually, again via The Silph Road's research, each starter evolution excels in different stats. Charizard has the highest attack stat among the three, clocking in at 212 over Venusaur's 198 and Blastoise's 186.

In terms of defense, Blastoise is the clear winner, boasting a defense stat of 222, with Venusaur coming in second place with 200, and Charizard at only 182.

Stamina-wise, Venusaur stays ahead of the pack with 160 stamina, compared to Blastoise's 158 and Charizard's 156.

The Verdict

Each Pokémon is strong in their own ways, so it is still hard to decide on which one is better based on pure stats alone. Remember that CP differs slightly from trainer to trainer, and Pokémon types are important to consider as well.
