Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 VS Xiaomi Redmi Note 3: Which Are The Hottest Smartphones Right Now?

Both the Samsung Galaxy J7 and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 are included on today's top trending phones for due to their remarkable specs and varying, but affordable prices. When it comes down the value, which phones will rise to the top of the consumers' lists and what are the other contenders?

All specs are based on updated figures and information from GSM Arena.

Camera

One of the most important specs for a lot of consumers is the camera and depending on how well a smartphone captures still images and videos reflects on its popularity.

Samsung Galaxy J7 has a nice 13MP snapper with decent depth of field of f/1.9. This is ideal for low-light situations and as large enough to produce crisp details.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, however, has a bigger 16MP camera, but with a slightly smaller opening of f/2.0. It is worth noting that just because it has a bigger resolution that it can produce a sharper image. Some images on the on maximum resolution seems interpolated, giving an impression that the camera isn't actually sporting an effective true resolution of 16MP.

Both has 5MP camera, which is more than enough for selfies and has great quality under proper lighting.

CPU and GPU

The secondary concern for consumers and gamers as well is the CPU and GPU of a smartphone. Both the Samsung Galaxy J7 and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has very capable CPUs and GPUs.

With the Galaxy J7's Snapdragon 617 and Adreno 405 and Redmi Note 3's Snapdragon 650 and Adreno 510, most modern games and apps will run with no problems at all even on an extremely busy multitasking situation.

Screen Display

This is where the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 gets a huge advantage over the Samsung's Galaxy J7.

The Redmi Note 3 has a full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and with a high ppi value of 403. The Galaxy J7 falls short with only 720 x 1280 pixels and with a low ppi of 267, which might be a bit subpar for most applications today.

Price

Both of these two models are, however, great for their values and easily takes top spots on certain lists online.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 can go as low as $220 on Amazon, while the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 can go even lower with $160 price tags. For the specs consumers get, both these phones are sure to please anybody who has a tight budget and not ready for flagships like Samsung Galaxy S7 or the upcoming iPhone 7.
