Fujifilm X-T2 Review: Is It A Killer Like Nikon D810 With Its 4k Video? Camera Beats Other Entry Level, Midrange DSLRs

Fujifilm is well-known for its masterfully crafted cameras in the past and in the present. The new Fujifilm X-T2 is a solid reminder that the company is still one of the best in the photography and filming business.

Wowing the consumers and killing some competition isn't something new with Fujifilm; and this has been a recurring thing even with its earlier X-T1 that several prosumers and professionals preferred to use instead of full-sized DSLRs.

Fujifilm X-T2's specs are cranked up to appeal with modern enthusiasts, professionals and shutter bugs. In paper, the camera boasts a 24.3MP X-Trans CMOS III APS-C sensor, which translates to highly improved and useable images even in low-light conditions.

Another killer feature that the Fujifilm X-T2 has is the 4K video shooting, which only a handful of cameras have. Pair this up with 325 autofocus points and capturing images and videos are almost perfect and seamless.

Even with the electronic view finder, shutter lags are still extremely well-handled that it almost feels very close to having an optical one. The Fujifilm X-T2 stayed true to its promise of virtually lag-free shooting.

In terms of image quality, the Fujifilm X-T2 handles noise (as shown on Photography BLOG's test) very well that even at awfully high ISO settings on JPEG, noise is eliminated almost completely without losing a huge amount of sharpness.

The video quality also speaks quite loudly for itself as shown on the test footage care of BigHeadTaco below:

While the quality already blows some DSLRs out of the water, the Fujifilm X-T2 still has another trick up its sleeves called the ACROS Film Simulation. This gives the videos straight out from the camera without any serious post processing a nice traditional film feel with true blacks and color reproduction.

The great thing about the Fujifilm X-T2 is its price, which may appear expensive when compared with other cameras on its league, but is much cheaper than some DSLRs that it happens to be miles better.

Available at Amazon at around $1,599 for Body only and $1,899 with XF 18-55mm lens. The Fujifilm X-T2 is, by no doubt, a great snapper and a very formidable video camera alternative and possibly even better on both worlds.
