Fans are eagerly awaiting for the much requested "trading system" in "Pokémon GO," which is about to drop very soon. But how would it actually work in the game?

Niantic Lab's CEO John Hanke has laid out the developer's plans for "Pokémon GO," and this includes the highly anticipated trading feature. The trading system is also included in the first trailer of the game, which is shown below at around 1:04.

Despite this, however, Hanke has not specifically gone into detail as to how the trading will work in the game. Trading can work in different ways.

Trading Using Internet Connection

Remember trading Pokémon with your friend on your Game Boy? With the dawn of the Internet era, trading via wired connection is now a thing of the past.

One of the most apparent ways that players can trade Pokémon in the game is via the Internet. Players will get requests to trade online, and both would have to validate to initiate the transfer.

Trading Via Marketplace

There were hints of a possible trading hub in "Pokémon GO," which may have a function similar to MMORPG marketplaces. As per the game's APP code (via RankedBoost), there is one line of code "Trade_Search," which may imply that players can search for available trades in the game.

According to Pokémon GO Hub, there were lines on Niantic's "Pokémon GO" Terms of Service that specifically refer to its upcoming trading system.

To summarize, it looks like trading is not limited to Pokémon only, as stated on the following line: "The App permits Account holders to capture and trade virtual items, including but not limited to Pokémon characters or creatures ("Trading Items") during gameplay."

Players also cannot exchange Pokémon or any in-game items for cash or Pokécoins, and the use of third-party marketplaces is prohibited.

As we have previously reported, Pokémon GO Hub predicted an October 2016 release date for the trading feature. The site also said that Niantic may finally fix the game's currently broken tracking system prior to the trading feature launch.
