The Google Pixel phone was recently launched at the company's event in London. Reports claimed that the device consists of many excellent features like latest Android OS, huge display, enhanced fingerprint scanner, and much more. In this report, we have pitted the specs and features of the new Pixel phone against the Sony Xperia XZ in order to help you choose the best buy option between the two.

The California-based technology giant unveiled the two new variants of the Pixel smartphones with an aluminum chassis having rounded edges with a circular fingerprint sensor on the back panel codenamed as the Pixel Imprint. When it comes to the performance-related specs, the Pixel device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core chipset and 4GB RAM with 32 GB of internal storage option, which can be expanded up to 128 GB. While the Sony Xperia XZ consist of the Snapdragon 820 processor and 3GB RAM with 64GB internal memory expandable up to 200GB.

Furthermore, the Pixel variants sport a 12.3-megapixel rear and an 8-megapixel front camera with dual-tone LED flash. On the other hand, the Sony phone excels with a 23-megapixel rear and 13-megapixel front camera with triple image sensing technology and 5-axis stabilization.

The Xperia XZ also surpasses the Google Pixel device life with a battery capacity of 2900 mAh as compared to the latter's 2700 mAh capacity.

Besides, in terms of software specs, the Google Pixel device has been preinstalled with the latest Android 7.1 Nougat operating system, which provides you with innovative features like new app dock, new navigation buttons and icons, and Google Assistant. However, the Xperia XZ runs on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system with a planned upgrade to the Nougat OS.

Additionally, both the smartphones consist of a USB Type-C port for faster data transfers. However, the Google device is also touted to be a VR-compatible phone with the first of its kind Daydream platform provided for the users. Lastly, the Google Pixel phone has been made available for $649 whereas the Sony Xperia XZ was recently launched worldwide for $700.
