'Skyrim' Mods Finally Happening On PlayStation 4, 'Fallout 4' Mods Comes As A Bonus

After quite a long battle in trying to get the mod support for 'Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim,' Bethesda finally made the announcement that PlayStation 4 owners have been waiting for. Apparently, "Fallout 4" will also support mods for the PlayStation 4, which is an added bonus.

Just recently, Bethesda made the official announcement through its official website regarding the mod support for "Skyrim" and "Fallout 4." The mod support is intended to work for the upcoming "Skyrim Special Edition"

The upcoming mod support will be enabled for both the standard PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro with added support to native 4K for particular mods. This will make the game look better than it is originally intended to look like.

The mod support will be initially released for "Skyrim" first, according to the blogpost. Bethesda finally succeeded in working with Sony. The mods will let players add, download and create their own content through the Creation Kit, which can also be downloaded here.

However, the mod support will not allow external assets to be loaded in-game for the PlayStation 4. Only assets from within the game can be used for mods and to be able to do these, users need to create a Bethesda.net. This would also allow the players browse and download mods afterwards.

This is the first time that mods will be supported on consoles, specifically on the PlayStation and for the entire stretch of 10 years, mods have been a crucial part of the growing community of Bethesda game fans.

Once the mod support has been officially released and goes bug-free (as much as possible), Bethesda plans on releasing the mod support for "Fallout 4" as well in order to take advantage of the 4K capabilities of the PlayStation 4 Pro. This would also include revamped lighting and graphical enhancements.
