'Pokkén Tournament': Scizor, Darkrai, Empoleon To Be Added To Wii U Version On Pokémon Day?
J RoseAnother new Pokémon was announced to join the arcade version of the fighting game "Pokkén Tournament" in Japan, and speculations point to a possible addition to the Wii U version soon.
Bandai Namco has recently announced the addition of bug/steel type Pokémon Scizor in the Japanese arcade version of "Pokkén Tournament" via a special Nico Nico livestream last week, according to Nintendo Insider.
The bipedal, insectoid Pokémon, which evolves into Mega Scizor once its Burst Attack is activated in the game, will be joining the roster of the Japan-exclusive arcade game on Oct. 20. It is unclear, however, when Scizor will be included in the Wii U version of "Pokkén Tournament."
Just like Scizor, Generation Four Pokémon Darkrai was also introduced in the arcade roster in July, and there were also no announcements as to when the dark-type Pokémon will be added to the Wii U version.
Another Pokémon, water/steel type Pokémon Empoleon is also rumored to be added to the game, according to a Reddit post. This, along with Scizor and Darkrai, were uncovered via the game's datamined details. The Redditor also speculated that there may be a fourth Pokémon to be added.
"Given that there is space for four additional fighters on the CSS," Redditor BananaMuffinFrenzy said, "there may be one more surprise fighter we don't know about yet."
While there are no official announcements from Bandai Namco, however, most fans speculate that these three Pokémon, plus another Pokémon speculated to be added soon, will be available as a bundle DLC for the Wii U version on Pokémon Day, Feb. 27.
"Darkrai announced July 14th, available to play in arcades on July 20th, Scizor announced October 14th, available to play in arcades on October 20th," Redditor madluk said. "We could very well see a January 14th/20th reveal or console port. February 27th, (Pokemon Day). Just kinda makes sense."
Of course, as with all rumors, this information is not confirmed nor denied by Bandai Namco yet, so this should be taken with a grain of salt. Nevertheless, these Pokémon will be an exciting addition to the popular brawler game.
Will these new Pokémon make its way to the Wii U version of "Pokkén Tournament"? Stay tuned for more updates.
