'Pirates Of The Caribbean 5' Spoilers: Johnny Depp's New Love Interest Revealed; What We Know On Javier Bardem Character
Vivian"Pirate of the Carribean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales" is currently in post-production. While this is not official yet, latest spoilers claimed Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) would get a new love interest in the fifth installment.
According to Movie News Guide, Kaya Scodelario, 24, could possibly play Captain Jack Sparrow's next great love. The "Maze Runner" actress has been cast to play an astronomer in the 1700s named Carina Smyth.
Fans speculated Carina Smyth is the daughter of Captain Hector Barbossa's (Geoffrey Rush). It added that she could be the love interest of Captain Jack Sparrow in "Pirate of the Carribean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales."
In September, Scodelario talked about her "Pirate of the Carribean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales" character. In particular, she pointed out the difference between Carina Smyth and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley).
"She's a totally different character," Scodelario told RadioTimes.com. "But yeah, it's really weird - the first one came out when I was 10 or something, so I remember looking up to Keira and thinking wow, it's so cool. It's a part of our childhood, like the Harry Potter movies."
Scodelario added Carina Smyth battles against the privilege to study at a university in the 1700s. The heroine eventually came into possession of a journal with clues that would lead to the mystical Trident of Poseidon.
"So she's on her own journey - looking for the trident of Poseidon - and she has a diary with clues, and she encounters Jack Sparrow along the way, and he messes everything up," Scodelario teased. "As he does. And it's fun!"
Apart from Scodelario, Spanish actor Javier Bardem has also joined the cast of "Pirate of the Carribean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales." He will portray a powerful and merciless ghost pirate, Captain Salazar, who was caught in the Devil's Triangle.
After escaping the Devil's Triangle, Captain Salazar looks for the Trident of Poseidon in order to kill every pirate at sea. He also plans to use the said powerful artifact to get revenge on his former adversary, Captain Sparrow.
"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales " is set to be released on May 26, 2017. Check out the trailer here:
