Vintage Apple List: End Of The Line For iPhone 4, MacBook Air
Ribhu .Apple will discontinue its support for the iPhone 4 and the Mac Book Air 2010 from October 31 onwards.
According to reports, the tech giant will shelve the old MacBook Air, iPhone 4 models, 3rd Generation AirPort Extreme, and mid-2009 AirPort Time Capsule. These products will be added to the vintage and obsolete category from October 31 onwards.
Apple's vintage products are those that are no longer manufactured for over five years, but are less than seven years old.
The obsolete products are those that are discontinued for more than seven ago. Both the above-referred products were released between 2009 to 2010.
When an Apple product has been added to the obsolete and vintage category, you will no longer be able to enjoy the hardware service. Moreover, it is advisable to avoid buying vintage products as you shall no longer be able to update or support such gadgets in the coming future.
Moreover, the reports suggest that the Apple's vintage and obsolete products will be applied in Japan only and all other latest versions will be extended to Australia, Canada, and the United States. Besides, India and other European countries can also expect their place on the list.
In September 2016, Apple outdated all CDMA models of iPhone 4 from across the world. Furthermore, the company also removed all late 2010 MacBook Air, the mid-2009 iMac, 2010 Mac Mini, and mid-2010 15-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pro as well.
Additionally, the Mac Book Air released in 2010 will be compatible with the recently launched Mac OS Sierra. However, the iPhone 4 can no longer be updated beyond iOS 7.1.2. Soon you can expect the release of the new MacBook Air enabled with OLED touch bar and USB-C ports by the end of this November 2016.
