The Cupertino tech giant chose not to update the MacBook Air line up during its October event. It seems like the 11-inch Air has been discontinued indefinitely, suggesting either a termination of the entire lineup or a refresh due in March 2017.

The MacBook Air is one of the best devices from Apple, and given no proper updates for a considerable time, we might have to wait till next year to see some light. It is also possible that the 2017 update could be the last update to the entire Air series.

As far as new MacBook Air is concerned, there are many rumors circulating regarding the same. One of the popular rumors is the introduction of a new variant- a 15-inch version .

Most analysts agree that the upcoming MacBook Air is going to have a compact and thinner design. MacWorld reports of a strong possibility of an E-ink keyboard for the MacBook Air 2017. With deals with Sonder Designs, famous for E-ink keyboards confirmed, many expect the deal is for the MacBook Air 2017.

According to Mac Rumors, the MacBook Air 2017 could make  use of USB-C ports and abandon the standard USB-A connections. Clarity on the processors does not exist. However, we could see at least the Sky Lake processors if not the Kaby Lake processors instead of the Broadwell processors under the hood of the upcoming MacBook Air. The Intel processors are faster in terms of both graphics and performance than the Broadwell processors. The Intel processors also would last longer.

Other expected features in the new MacBook Air include fingerprint sensors, Touch ID, and Apple -Pencil enabled Trackpads. There is a possibility of seeing the virtual personal assistant Siri arriving in the new range of Apple Products.

While a formal product launch could happen of the MacBook Air 2017 is not yet  confirmed, many are still hopeful that Apple would not retire the  Air just yet and will instead rekindle its overdue spark.
