Sony Xperia XZ Review: Can The Smarphone Beat Samsung And LG Flagships?

The new Sony Xperia XZ has a lot in common with the Sony Xperia Z5, which was introduced into the market last year. It also bears some technological resemblance to the Galaxy S7 and LG G5 range of smartphones.

The Xperia XZ has a smooth and sleek glass and metal casing that makes it pleasant to hold. It features a 23MP rear and 13MP front camera. While the quality of images taken with this phone might not compare to those of higher and costlier smartphones, it sure offers excellent photos to the average user.

Meanwhile, you can create extra-special photos with the triple image sensor functionality of the Sony Xperia XZ, and these would be photos any professional user would be proud of.

The Xperia XZ boasts of an IP68 dust and water resistant capability. great for outdoor activities. While liquid spills would not impact it in any way, it is best to avoid dropping it in saltwater, softdrinks, and chlorinated drinks according to its manufacturer.

The smartphone has a 5.2 full HD display, but this may not compare with the AMOLED display of the Galaxy S7 Edge or the Super LCD5 of the HTC 10. If you need a Sony Xperia with a lesser screen display, then you may go for the existing Sony X compact which has 4.6-inch display.

Xperia XZ comes with a non-removable 2900mAh battery which should last hours to take care of all your mobile device engagements, giving it an edge over similar smartphone competitors.

This elegant smartphone operates the Android Marshmallow system, but this could be upgraded to Nougat soon. It uses the Snapdragon 820 processor and it has a 3GB RAM. The Sony Xperia XZ comes with 64GB memory which could be upgraded to 256GB if the user so desires; and then, the phone has two SIM slots.
