iPad Mini 5 Release Date Set Early Next Year With No Headphone Jack?
Bal Kenneth AballeApple's move to create wire-free gadgets has garnered mixed emotions. Losing the 3.5mm headphone jack from the iPhone 7 series is reportedly the head start of this wireless innovation. Having said that, will the iPad Mini 5 be released with the same pattern as well?
The new iPad Mini is expected to be launched in March 2017. On its release date, the upcoming Apple tablet might be in for a huge overhaul.
In an interview, Phil Schiller, Apple's SVP of worldwide marketing, shared that they want to move forward and be courageous in creating new features that their consumers will enjoy. One of the implemented decisions that company has was to move on from outdated jack, Billboard reported.
"Some people have asked why we would remove the analog headphone jack from the iPhone," said Schiller. "It comes down to one word, courage. The courage to move on."
"Our smartphones are packed with technologies, and we all want more," he added. "Maintaining an ancient, single-purpose connector doesn't make sense, that space is at a premium."
With Apple's declaration to innovate their products to be totally cordless in terms of earphones, it is likely that the iPad Mini 5 will lose its headphone jack as well.
In order to listen to music from an Apple gadget with no headphone jack, its users can use the new released AirPods which works via Bluetooth. They can also still use a wired earphone, as long as they have a 3.5mm jack adapter to connect to the lightning port of the device.
Moreover, exciting changes to the iPad Mini successor are highly anticipated. The upcoming tablet will be thinner than its predecessor with 7000-series aluminum like the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, Mac World reported.
Rumor also has it that latest iPad will have the 3D Touch pressure-sensitive screen tech which Apple equipped its iPhone 6s series. Although there are no official updates regarding its release, the iPad Mini 5 is expected to be out in the market by March 2017.
