Every smartphone users are patiently waiting for the latest Android update to be released from their respective manufacturers. One such case is the Sony Xperia family. We have gathered some important information regarding the release of Android 7.0 for Sony Xperia smartphones.
As you've probably seen Google unveil Android version 7.0, Nougat we've seen lots of questions on Sony's upgrade roadmap and plans.
According to an official blog post by Sony itself, the company has revealed which devices are going to get Android 7.0 Nougat.
"We will make Android 7.0, Nougat available for: Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia X, Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra, Xperia X Performance - and Xperia XZ & Xperia X Compact*."
Sony hasn't given any official date when Nougat will be released to these devices. But they have smartly clarified the time and process required to release the update- "Software rollouts are a phased process - timing and availability will vary by market and/or operator. Most models supported but some operator/market exceptions will apply."
The company further hinted that the Sony will include lots of exciting new features and functionality with new improvements with the user experience. We can expect an entirely new UI for Xperia users in the Android 7.0 update.
However, there is a slightly better chance of getting the Android 7.0 updates earlier than everyone else, if you have purchased a Sony Xperia through a carrier.
Also, if you are feeling impatient for the updates in your Sony Xperia mobiles, then change your theme for a while. When it comes to Android updates, they are painstakingly slow. At times, when we get an Android update, a new version is either announced or already launched in the market with a new smartphone. Let's not dig our head into that and patiently wait for Sony Xperia updates.
Stay tuned for regular updates on Sony Xperia Android 7.0 update.
