Samsung Galaxy On5 vs Galaxy On5 Pro; A Budget Smartphone Comparison

Samsung is a global leader in the smartphone market with the widest offering range from budget to premium smartphones. It's Galaxy series smartphone is the most successful till now, which has many extension including Galaxy On5 and Galaxy On5 Pro. We will compare both.

The first thing a buyer will say after looking Galaxy On5 and On5 Pro- its completely identical. As it is evident from a similar 5.0" TFT capacitive touch screen with 720X1280 resolution in both the smartphones.

The design of On5 and On5 Pro looks similar with Samsung usual backside combination of flash-camera-speaker. The body has plastic frames.

One of the major difference spotted is in OS. Galaxy On5 runs on Android 5.0 whereas On5 Pro comes with Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). However, On5 with T-mobile carrier has received Android 6.0 update.

In terms of processor, both features a similar quad-core Exynos 3475 processor with a clocking speed of 1.3 GHz. The graphics card is similar in both- Mali T720.

The second difference between On5 and On5 Pro is the RAM. On5 comes with only 1.5GB RAM while On5 Pro has received a little upgrade with 2GB RAM. The internal storage is pretty decent in On5 Pro with 16 GB space whereas On5 comes with only 8 GB internal memory. Both comes with a dedicated microSD slot, expandable up-to 256GB.

A budget smartphone comes with a camera just to cater normal photography needs. It is evident from only 8MP camera lens with LED flash in both. The selfie camera comes with a decent 5MP lens, better than many mid-budget premium smartphones like Mi 5 with 4MP front snapper.

Both packs with a removable Li-Ion 2600mAh battery with no option for faster charging. The best part is the inclusion of FM in both the smartphones.

The latest price of On5 and On5 Pro is same, so it's better to buy On5 Pro. However there is no major difference expect the latest OS and more RAM.
